Chef Rob Gentile, a first-generation Canadian born to Italian parents, grew up surrounded by his family’s rich food traditions. From a young age, he learned the sacred art of growing, preserving, and preparing food, which led him to his first restaurant job at 13.
Today, Rob owns Stella, an Italian restaurant in West Hollywood, California, offering a modern twist on traditional Italian cuisine. The establishment is a collaboration between restaurateur Janet Zuccarini. The menu emphasizes Italian heritage combined with Californian seasonal ingredients, featuring vibrant small plates and elegant dishes, often prepared tableside.

It’s all smiles at Mama Pina’s House! In Bergamo we engage in an intimate cooking class with @jeffmichaud @chefbeckernyc and Mamma Pina (Claudia’s mom!) at Jeff’s Italian home. We dine al fresco using fresh, seasonal produce from the garden and featuring dishes like sweet peas with wild boar, savory crespelle (crepes) with Pina’s wild asparagus, and golden polenta stirred by hand in a generations-old copper pot.
Ready to learn from the pros? @jeffmichaud @chefbeckernyc will share techniques and recipes while we enjoy Mamma Pina’s peaceful grounds, sipping espresso and homemade limoncello.
